Which questions should you ask an AI company before hiring it?

Start with your own task, not with the provider. Write down which work the AI should take over, which systems hold the data and who in your team owns the process. Then ask every candidate the same questions and compare the answers:

• Data - which of our data will the AI use, where is it processed, who has access, and where is that written down?
• Humans - when does the AI hand over to a person, and how does that person see the history?
• Testing - how do you test with our real data before launch, and what counts as done?
• Costs - what is one-off, what is recurring, and who bills each item?
• After launch - who maintains the system, trains our team and handles changes?
• Ownership - which accounts, data and configurations stay with us if we stop working together?

What are the red flags when choosing an AI agency in Dubai?

• No clear answer on data protection - if a provider cannot say where your data is processed, it has not thought about it.
• No handover to humans - an AI that cannot pass a conversation or case to a person will fail on the hard cases.
• Demos only - a polished demo with invented data says little. Ask how the system is tested with your documents and questions.
• Lock-in - everything runs in the provider's accounts, and you cannot export data or settings.
• Promised results - guaranteed savings or fixed success rates before anyone has seen your data.
• Vague scope - "the AI will handle customer service" is not a scope. Tasks, channels and limits should be named.

It names the task, the data the AI may use and where it is processed, the channels and systems, what the AI does and what it does not do, and the points where a person approves or takes over.
