What does AI read from an invoice?

A UAE finance inbox rarely looks tidy. A supplier in Sharjah sends a clean PDF, a contractor sends a scan with a stamp, a driver sends a phone photo of a delivery invoice over WhatsApp. Many invoices mix Arabic and English on the same page.

The AI reads all of these formats. It extracts supplier name, TRN, invoice number and date, line items, quantities, unit prices, VAT, total, currency and due date. It does not need a template for each supplier, which is what made older OCR tools slow to set up and hard to maintain.

Which checks run before an invoice reaches accounting?

Reading is the easy part. The value lies in the checks that follow, the ones a careful accountant does by hand today:

• TRN and VAT - is the supplier's TRN on the invoice and does it match your master data, is VAT charged at the standard 5% rate or correctly zero-rated, do the lines add up to the total.
• Duplicates - the same invoice number from the same supplier, or the same amount on the same day, is held back.
• Three-way match - the invoice is compared with the purchase order and the delivery note or goods receipt: right items, right quantities, right price.
• Coding - the AI proposes account, cost centre and project based on earlier bookings from the same supplier.
• Exceptions - anything that does not match goes to a person with a short note: what differs, by how much, and which document shows it.

How much time does AI invoice processing free up?

Example calculation: assume a trading company receives 600 supplier invoices a month and a person spends 6 minutes on each, from opening the email to entering the data. That is 3,600 minutes, or 60 hours a month. If the AI captures and checks every invoice and a person spends 1 minute reviewing each one, review takes 600 minutes, or 10 hours. The other 50 hours go to exceptions and work that needs judgment. Your numbers will differ; the free AI check measures them first.

As of September 2026, Brandlix, our AI social media system, imports PDF brochures and reads their content, and DXB Radar, our Dubai data product, fetches and checks data from around 20 public sources every 2 hours. How does invoice automation fit your ERP and UAE e-invoicing?

The automation sits between your finance inbox and your accounting system, whether that is Odoo, Zoho Books, SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally or QuickBooks. It uses the system's interface where one exists and import files where not. Approved invoices are posted or queued for posting. Nothing is paid without a person.

UAE e-invoicing changes the input over time. E-invoicing becomes mandatory from 1 January 2027 for businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more and from 1 July 2027 for those below. Invoices then arrive as structured data through an Accredited Service Provider (ASP). AI Vision Hub is not an ASP.
