Why do reports take so long to build?

Because the numbers live in different places. Sales are in the CRM, invoices in accounting, stock in the ERP, marketing figures in several platforms and the targets in a spreadsheet on someone's laptop. Every week a person exports, cleans, pastes and formats, and every week small errors creep in.

By the time the report arrives, it describes last week. Nobody opens the dashboard between reports, so a problem that starts on Tuesday is noticed the following Monday.

Which reports can be automated?

The right format depends on who reads it and how often. An owner wants three numbers at breakfast, the finance team wants a full pack at month-end, and a branch manager wants to know today whether stock is running low. One data model can serve all three:

• Scheduled reports - weekly sales, monthly management packs and branch comparisons, sent as PDF or email at a fixed time.
• Dashboards - live views in Power BI or Looker Studio, fed automatically from your systems instead of manual uploads.
• Morning briefing - a short text each morning: what happened yesterday, what is due today, what looks unusual.
• Alerts - a message by email, Teams or WhatsApp when a figure crosses a threshold, such as a sudden drop in orders or a large overdue receivable.
• AI commentary - a written summary of the main changes with the figures behind them, so managers read two paragraphs instead of twenty charts.

What do automated reports look like in practice?

We use them ourselves. As of September 2026, DXB Radar, our Dubai data product, creates an automatic SEO report every Monday from Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, without anyone opening either tool. Brandlix, our AI social media system, sends a morning briefing, writes an automatic monthly report for each account and warns when a post takes off or crashes.

Example calculation: assume a sales manager spends 3 hours every week collecting figures from four systems for the Monday meeting. That is 156 hours a year, almost four working weeks of 40 hours. How can you trust an automated number?

Every figure links back to its source system and the time it was pulled. When a source fails to deliver, the report says so instead of showing an old number as current. AI commentary only describes what is in the data; it does not invent causes it cannot see, and it marks assumptions.
